Carbonara Trattoria

Amazing food! My husband and I went here Saturday 2/18 for date night. The restaurant does need to be cleaned better. The mirrors on the back wall were covered in finger prints & hand prints, the wall had some food splatter on it. Definitely recommend the restaurant to have staff clean better. I understand this is a older establishment. But the food & drinks were great. Our waiter Tony was on top of things, very friendly and professional. We will definitely go back again. We ordered Grilled artichokes, Carbonara,Veal Piccata, and for drinks my husband got a rum and coke and I got the Van Gogh Martini which is an espresso martini.

The service was phenomenal. I cannot remember our servers name, but she was very nice and knowledgable, provided suggestions and kept up with our table. Even the young man bringing the bread and sharing the cheese. Bread service was delish. Perhaps we caught them on a bad night because, unfortunately, the food just wasn't what we were expecting. We visited after many people on social media hyped it up and gave amazing reviews. I had a basic chicken parm, my companion had the pasta of the day. Neither were seasoned. Spaghetti had no flavor, and the parmesan chicken was better, perhaps because it was fried and had cheese on it. Otherwise, it didn't taste like much else. The pasta of the day was very watery, with boiled, plain, unseasoned chicken, and vegetables, overall unimpressive. We also ordered cesar salads, which were side-sized, despite the $13 tag. They were a bit heavy on the vinegar side in my opinion, which is unlike any other cesar I've had. Overall, great service, but the food was not for me/us.

What a great place. We dined here with another couple and the service and food were outstanding. We had the artichokes and calamari to start and both were cooked to perfection. The chicken piccata over risotto was great, as was the Marsala. The bolognese could have used more sauce. Service by Alex was great, the entire staff works together to provide a great experience.

We are visiting Atlanta from North Carolina. We were craving a good Italian meal so we tried Carbonara. We were delighted with the pastas and especially the short rib. It was a large fat free piece that was full of flavor. My wife got the pasta and it was not boxed pasta definitely hand made..Very impressed with the staffs team player ways of taking care of diners. Very well ran authentic Italian restaurant. I WOULD GIVE 6 STARS IF I COULD..Wish we had rhis back in Raleigh NC

Dined at Carbonara for a business dinner. The Braised Short were delicious as was the fried green tomato’s appetizer. I’ve never had fried green tomatoes prepared in this manner and will get this the next time. We also had the Hallibut special and it was fresh and mild. We dined at the bar, and our bartender/server was excellent. The place had a great vibe. The mashed potato’s with my shirt ribs were a little too dense and dry but still good. I can’t give 5 stars yet as I haven’t tried their pasta. I am not sure if it’s made in house which is a must in my opinion for an Italian restaurant. Almost forgot, the calamari was pretty good but not the best I’ve had.
